Canadian singer-songwriter Pat Canavan writes songs that stir the soul and stick in your head. Memorable melodies, lush harmonies and luminous vocals are cornerstones of Pat’s music. His lyrics are often emotionally intense poetry about life, love, self-actualization and living the true human potential. Pat’s latest project is You Give Good Vegas, a 14-song rock album, released in November 2016, which features three current hit singles. I’m Just West of Eden is an upbeat, bluesy track, featuring back-up vocals by Pat’s brother, John Canavan, and lead guitar by Steve Gallagher of North Carolina-based Lockdown Blues Band. Yesterday is a cover of the celebrated Beatle track, had it been written by John and not Paul. Flying High Again is a stirring love song that about the rapture and exhilaration of true passion. As a performer, Pat has fronted Canadian rock bands U4EA with hits Don’t Take It Away and Mystery; The Tundra - a collaboration with Honeymoon Suite bassist Gary Lalonde, inspired by the music and history of Canada’s indigenous peoples; and Pat Canavan and HERE. Between 1998 and 2004, Pat fronted Toronto-based band HERE, released three rock albums, performed live extensively and built a significant fan-base. HERE is best known for their songs These Other Things from the award-winning short film Amplifier and Brand New Morning from the award-winning short film Masterpiece Monday. Pat’s follow-up solo releases include the rock album Songs For Sale, and singles This Christmas Day, We All Play For Canada (2014 Olympic anthem in both rock and pop versions) . While Pat’s primary style is Rock, he crosses many genres including Folk Rock, New Age, Instrumental Soundscapes, Big Band Jazz, Blues, Children’s music.
