Akaka Falls State Park Description

edit

Akaka Falls State Park is located on the northeastern part of the Big Island in Hawaii. It is an official state park and features an 11-mile-long trail. The park's 442-foot waterfall can be detected from various viewpoints along the trail. An overlook above the waterfalls spans above, making it a scenic viewpoint. The path is covered in luscious vegetation and has various viewpoints from which you can also see Kahuna Falls. Hiking through the path is considered a heavy physical activity but features some wheelchair-accessible points.

Route

edit

The trail is located near a parking lot that features amenities such as bathrooms and trash cans. The route is paved and has some steps. However, the waterfall view is nearby and a short distance from the viewpoint.
