PARK SEONG-WON

Park Seong-won is a professor of Youngnam Theological University and Seminary in Korea and a Centeral Committee member of World Council of Churches.


Career highlights

Rev. Dr. Park has been served World Allience of Reformed Churches (WARC) for 10 years (1995-2005) as the Executive Secretary of the Department of Cooperation and Witness.


He participated in the World Council of Churches’ World Convocation on Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (Seoul, Korea, 1990) as a representative of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, and address on behalf of the WARC.


Rev. Dr. Park organized the WARC Consultation on Covenanting for Justice in the Economy and the Earth (London-Coleny, U.K., 2004).

He has also been actively involved in Accra Confession of the 24th General Council of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (Accra, Ghana, 2004).

He organized WARC-CWM Joint Forum on ?쏬iving Out the Accra Confession: Its Implications for Our Spirituality and Mission (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2006).

Rev. Dr. Park ordained a Presbyterian minister from the Presbyterian Church of Kora (PCK) in 1982.


Education

Rev. Dr. Park received a bachelor’s degree in Music from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea in 1977. In 1982, he earned a master degree from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Seoul. In December 1999, he received a Doctoral Degree in theology from Bern University in Switzerland.
