The Typhaine case or matter Typhaine Taton, sometimes spelled Tiphaine case is a matter of minor abuse and infanticide occurred in France in 2009.

June 18, Maubeuge, the disappearance of Typhaine Taton, aged five, was announced by his mother. Her partner and she confessed the murder of the child five months later in their custody. The reasons given are a particularly violent correction "for urinating in bed and stole candy and having trouble sleeping." The investigation will reveal abuse already inflicted on the victim earlier. Confessions came as the couple made to believe for several months at a disappearance. The body of the child is found in Belgium and the first investigations are conducted by the local police.

The mother of the girl, Anne-Sophie Reaper and his partner, Nicolas Willot, were sentenced to 30 years imprisonment by the Assize Court of Douai.

This court case raises at that time a strong emotion in public opinion and the media in France and Belgium.

Biography

Typhaine Taton, born in 2004, is the second daughter of Anne-Sophie Reaper and François Taton after Caroline, born in 2003 when her mother was 17 years.1,2. At his trial, the mother said that, from his birth Typhaine was "not required", explaining that for her, it was "difficult early motherhood" and stating that it rejected "a little" her daughter.[1]

The trial took place in January 2013, more than three years after the fact, before the Assize Court of Douai.

The mother of the child said she wanted "to hurt" 17 but "Typhaine did not deserve that."
