Overseas Exile is the user name for Curtis "Ovid" Poe, a well-known Perl developer. The name is taken from his now defunct Overseas Exile blog.

Ovid current sat for years on the board of directors of the Perl Foundation, designed the Corinna OOP system that is being integrated into the Perl language, wrote the test harness which currently ships with the Perl programming language, wrote Beginning Perl, and is one of the authors of Perl Hacks, with chromatic and Damian Conway. He's passionate about science, space, and software engineering.
