Hi! I'm Joe Dempsey and this is my user page. I'm a lawyer in New York originally from Chicago. My practice focuses on consumer protection law. This will be my third year as Wikimedia NYC board member.
I received my Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2011 and before that my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago in 2002. In between I completed the Film Directing program at NYU-SCPS.
My interests are pretty wide: free culture, epistemology, philosophy of science, ethics, intellectual property, consumer protection, and a whole lot more. I like to sketch, play strategy games and RPGs, and bike around Westchester. I'm also trying to teach myself Sanskrit.
