Emmanuel Dickson Otieno. (born December 25, 1975) is a Ugandan entrepreneur, scientist, environmentalist, scholar, public health specialist, author, novelist, poet, military strategist and researcher. He is known for his frequent collaborations with business directors, military commanders, scholars, media, social revolutionists and entrepreneurs. Emmanuel was introduced to the politics of inequality early in life, when his father had to leave their rural home in search of work in the urban areas of Masaka. This had a profound influence on the young Emmanuel, who became aware of his family's struggle to run the household and created his gender activism early in life.
Throughout his career spanning over two decades, Emmanuel has received numerous accolades including an African Union Peace medal in 2016 for serving in the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) for his outstanding solid contribution to the restoration of peace and security in Somalia and region. He is remembered for his exemplary work in the establishment of Ceele Jaale community Hospital in Lower Shebelle, Marka Somalia. He also served as the field medical officer in South Sudan in 2014. He is known for scientific writing and research in areas of Uniformed Services, health economics, non-communicable diseases including breast cancer, and tobacco control. He is an expert and specialist in areas of Public health and security. Emmanuel was born in Masaka in 1975 to Christian parents. He was raised in the rural village of Katwe and educated in the missionary schools of Kako senior, Masaka senior and St Henry college. He attended Mulago paramedical schools and Clarke international University receiving a bachelor's degree in Public Health in 2014. Emmanuel also loves to engage family, friends, and visitors in grand story-telling sessions about life experiences whom he has known out thoroughly. He never holds back in his affections or in his praise for courage and aggressiveness. And,immensely believes ability is functional.
