Carzone is the popular Irish website for motor dealers and consumers located in Dublin, Ireland and is owned by the Trader Media Group. It began as part of Webzone Ltd, a web design and production company.
In 2005 Carzone.ie was sold to the Guardian Media Group (GMG) in a deal worth a about EUR5 million. Trader Media Group, a subsidiary of GMG, acquired Webzone Ltd, the Dublin holding company of the motor website. Carzone founders Peter Crowley and Noel O'Halloran, who each owned 45 percent, enjoyed a multi-million-euro windfall. Another director, Bernard McGranaghan, had a 10 percent stake.
In 2008 Carzone underwent a full redesign.
