GrowthFountain

edit

GrowthFountain is an online investment marketplace that connects US small businesses and startups with both accredited and non-accredited investors.[1] The GrowthFountain marketplace operates under the JOBS act, specifically under exemptions given in Title III. Companies raising capital on GrowthFountain are legally permitted to advertise their campaigns publicly.  An investor is not required to be accredited, and investments start at $100.

History

edit

Based in New York City, GrowthFountain was founded in 2013 by Ken Staut and Leon Stiel, former hedge fund and technology managers.[2] In January 2017 GrowthFountain launched its first marketplace.

The JOBS act

edit

In the final rules of the JOBS act, Congress cites GrowthFountain 11 times.

Partner Network

edit

In March of 2017, GrowthFountain launched partner sites with Digital Federal Credit Union, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union and Rivermark Community Credit Union.[3] Through these platforms, credit union members can support and invest in their local businesses, and local businesses can tap into customers and community for investment.  The credit union marketplaces support each other and increase exposure across the GrowthFountain network, with the intention of increasing the success of a fundraise.[4]
