Sam Harris Controversy edit

Whilst hosting The Majority Report in June 2017, Michael Brooks commented on Sam Harris's views on controlling Muslim populations that Sam had made in his podcast conversation with Maajid Nawaz[31].

Malhar Mali the founder and editor of Areo magazine writes about this exchange in his July 2017 article 'The Sam Harris Outrage Industry'[32] criticising Michael's view on Sam Harris by saying:

"Brooks does not stop, though. He finishes his assault by calling Harris a “trust fund baby” and “pseudoscientist.” This clip, including all the rest of the demagogic slights it offers against Harris’s education and background, is a mere example of what has developed into what we might call the “Sam Harris Outrage Industry,” "

Harris himself also hit back at Brooks via a tweet[33] and a Facebook post[34]as was commented in an article on Splice Today[35] which stated:

"Harris reacted on Twitter with: “I just don’t understand this level of dishonesty. Everything in this video is a lie.” Nawaz, who Brooks had said “really just comes off looking pathetic and embarrassing,” jumped in with: “Brooks, it would’ve taken minutes to check, *before* humiliating yourself, that Sam was setting up a hypothetical for me to knock down.” He then demanded an apology, but the only response Brooks had was to invite Harris on the show."

Brooks then took the opportunity, again whilst hosting The Majority Report to follow up on his initial comments and play a longer clip of Harris's podcast to avoid being taken out of context.
