editMinas are Proto-nordic racial in origin and are believed to be the original habitats of several regions of Rajasthan such as Alwar, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Sikar Tonk etc.[1] However, some believe that they are of Proto-Dravidian stock. The Vedas mention them as the enemies of the Aryans while the Mahabharata glorifies them with the kingdom of Matsyaraj.[2] whereas Bhils belong to Proto-Australoid racial group and are identified with Mundas and the Gonds in respect of their racial characteristics.[3]
