I have an engineering degree and work in the semiconductor industry. I am trying to bring useful new content regarding Electronic design automation software to Wikipedia as well as upgrade some of the existing Wikipedia pages that other engineers have gotten started to meet Wikipedia standards. Slowly, slowly over time.
For those that aren't familiar with Electronic Design (EDA) software, these are the tools that Apple, Nvidia, Cisco and Intel and others use to create their ipod/iphone, graphic chips, networking chips and microprocessors. Basically, consumer electronics and the internet networking are all engineered by hardware designers, verification engineers, and layout designers using EDA tools to design and verify the millions and 100s of millions of logic elements needed for the chips to work. It wouldn't be possible to achieve the complexity levels we have today without these software tools.
My goal is to help gradually improve the Wikipedia content for both the semiconductor industry and the broader lay community regarding EDA software technologies.
