PART 1
AttraktioneneditDer Freizeitpark bietet eine Mischung aus Fahrgeschäften, Themenbereichen und Parkanlagen. Eine der Hauptattraktionen ist die Achterbahn Silver Star, die vom Schweizer Ingenieurbüro Bolliger & Mabillard Ingénieurs Conseils SA geplant und in Zusammenarbeit mit Mercedes-Benz erstellt wurde. Bis Anfang 2006 war sie die schnellste und bis 2012 die höchste Achterbahn Europas. Der Wartebereich der Bahn führt durch ein von Mercedes-Benz ausgestattetes Museum, in dem unter anderem Tourenwagen und Formel-1-Rennwagen betrachtet werden können. Ein weiteres Fahrgeschäft ist die Poseidon, die erste Wasserachterbahn in Europa. Weitere Fahrgeschäfte sind die Euro-Mir, welche mit drehbaren Gondeln bestückt ist, so dass die Strecke zeitweise rückwärts durchfahren wird. In der Eurosat verläuft die Fahrt innerhalb einer mit Weltraumeffekten versehenen großen Kugel. Zum Saisonstart 2006 wurde in Anlehnung an die Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft in Deutschland Eurosat mit handgemalten Folien als WM-Ball Teamgeist verkleidet und an Halloween ist sie als der größte Kürbis der Welt verkleidet. Die Eurosat war von Sommersaisonende 2017 bis ca. Mitte der Sommersaison 2018 wegen Umbaus geschlossen und wurde zum Eurosat – CanCan Coaster im Stil des berühmten Moulin Rouge umgestaltet. Im Themenbereich Island befindet sich der Blue Fire Megacoaster, die erste Hochgeschwindigkeitsachterbahn des Europa-Parks mit Linearmotorabschuss und Überschlagelementen – einem Looping, zwei Korkenziehern und einer Heartline Roll. |

The theme park offers a mixture of rides, themed areas and parks. One of the main attractions is the rollercoaster ‘Silver Star’ which was planned by the Swiss engineering office Bolliger & Mabillard Ingénieurs Conseils SA and constructed in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz. ‘Silver Star’ was the fastest rollercoaster until the beginning of 2006 and, until 2012, it was also the highest one in Europe. The waiting area guides the visitors through a museum, which was equipped by Mercedes-Benz, showing touring cars and Formula One racing cars. Another ride is called ‘Poseidon’, the first water rollercoaster in Europe. The rollercoaster ‘Euro-Mir’ has rotatable gondolas, so the ride is temporarily backwards. The ride in ‘Eurosat’ takes place in a big sphere which is designed with special effects that create a space-like atmosphere. In 2006, the sphere was laminated with hand-painted foils which made it look like a football following the Football World Cup. During Halloween, the rollercoaster is disguised as the biggest pumpkin in the world.From the end of the end of the 2017 summer season until the middle of the 2018 summer season, 'Eurosat' was closed for reconstructions. The now called ‘Eurosat CanCan Coaster’ was inspired by the style of the famous Moulin Rouge. The ‘Blue Fire Megacoaster’ is located in the Icelandic themed area. Ebenfalls im Themenbereich Island wurde 2012 der Wodan – Timburcoaster eröffnet, die erste Holzachterbahn im Europa-Park. Die Besonderheit besteht darin, dass sich die Bahn mit dem Blue Fire Megacoaster und Atlantica Supersplash kreuzt. Wodan ist 1.050 Meter lang und erreicht eine Geschwindigkeit von über 100 km/h.

Shows, Paraden und 4D-KinoeditDer Europa-Park bietet auch rund ein Dutzend unterschiedliche Shows, darunter Eiskunstlauf-, Varieté- oder Flamenco-Shows, sowie für Kinder das Marionettentheater und die Junior Club Studios, eine interaktive Show, in der Kinder in die Welt der Filmtechnik eintauchen können.[29] Eine der Shows war das Drehtheater-Multimediashow „Zeitreise“. Mittelpunkt war dabei ein kreisförmiges Theater, aufgeteilt in sechs Sektionen, wobei sich die Zuschauerplätze um das Theater drehten und jeder Betrachter so eine Sektion nach der anderen zu sehen bekam. Zum 35. Geburtstag des Europa-Parks am 12. Juli 2010 wurde das Theater umgestaltet und erhielt den neuen Shownamen Europa-Park Historama – Die Show. Es zeigte die 35-jährige Geschichte des Europa-Parks auf spektakuläre Weise mit 4D-Effekten und einer 180°-Sicht. Seit der Sommersaison 2018 dient das Drehtheater als „Preview Center“ für den Wasserpark Rulantica. Im Barocktheater Europa-Park Teatro, dass sich im italienischen Themenbereich befindet, wurde während den Halloween-Saisons 2014–2017 mehrmals täglich das Musical „Spook Me!“ aufgeführt.[30] In der Sommersaison 2018 und 2019 wurde dort „Rulantica – The Musical“ gezeigt. Beide Musicals wurden von Hendrik Schwarzer komponiert; zum Ensemble gehört unter anderem Ornella de Santis, die jeweils die weibliche Hauptrolle spielt.[31] In der Sommersaison zeigt der Park dort die Zaubershow "It's Magic!", in der u. a. der Magier Peter Valance auftritt.[32] Ebenso findet hier im Winter die jährlich thematisch wechselnde Dinnershow „Cirque d’Europe“ statt. |
Europa-Park offers about a dozen different shows, inlcuding figure skating, Variete or Flamenco-shows, as well as the puppettheater and the junior club studios, an interactive show, in which children can experience the world of filmmaking. [29] One of the shows was the rotary theater-multimediashow "Zeitreise". Center was a circular theater, divided in six sectors, where the visitor seats were circuling around and every guest in the audience was shown one sector after another. For the 35th anniversary of the Europa-Park, on the 12th of july 2010, the theater was remodeled and got a new showname "Europa-Park Historama - die Show". It showed the 35 year old history of the Europa-Park with spectacular 4D-effects and a 180 degree-view. Since the summerseason 2018 the rotary theater is used as a "preview center" for the waterpark Rulantica. In the baroquetheater Europa-Park Teatro, which is located in the italien themearea, the musical "Spook Me!" was performed many times a day during the halloween-season of 2014 to 2017. In der Arena im spanischen Themenbereich, welche bis zu 2.000 Besucher fasst, werden mittelalterliche Ritterspiele aufgeführt. Das Eisstadion gehörte bis zur Saison 2007 dem schweizerischen Themenbereich an, heute besitzt es eine griechische Fassade und wird geleitet von Ian Jenkins. In der Sommersaison 2018 präsentierte der Park hier die Show „Paddington on Ice“.[33] Ebenso findet tägliche eine große Parade mit bunten Wagen und kostümierten Darstellern statt. Im 4D-Kino des Parks läuft mehrmals täglich ein etwa 15-minütiger Kurzfilm. Abends nach Parkschluss wird im Kino ein aktueller Kinofilm gezeigt, oft jedoch auch mit den zusätzlichen 4D-Effekten. Zur Wintersaison 2018/2019 kam ein neuer 4D-Film in das Magic Cinema. Der Film heißt Ed & Edda in „Nachts im Park 4D“.[34] In der Sommersaison 2020 läuft drei Mal täglich der 11-minütige Kurzfilm "Aufbruch nach Batavia", jedoch als 2D-Film.[35] Das Magic Cinema fasst insgesamt 448 Besucher, die Größe der Leinwand misst 19 × 9 Meter. Insgesamt bietet der Europa-Park über sechs Stunden Showprogramm. Fernsehproduktionen aus dem ParkeditDer Europa-Park gewinnt als Medienstandort für Fernsehproduktionen immer mehr an Bedeutung. So produzieren unter anderem die Sender BR, Sat.1, SWR, ZDF, Nickelodeon und ProSieben immer wieder Sendungen im Europa-Park. Der SWR überträgt seit dem Sommer 1995 jedes Jahr live die Sendung Immer wieder sonntags aus der IWS-Arena im Europa-Park, die seit 2005 von Stefan Mross moderiert wird. Unter anderem werden auch Kombitickets angeboten, mit denen man die Show und den Park am selben Tag besuchen kann. |

Until the 2007 season, the ice stadium was part of the Swiss themed area. Today, it has a Greek facade and is led by Ian Jenkins. In the 2018 summer season, the park presented the show ‘’Paddington on Ice’’ there. Furthermore, there is a big parade with colourful carts and actors in costumes, which takes place daily. Several times a day, the park’s 4D cinema called ‘’Magic Cinema’’ screens a 15-minute short film. In the 2018/19 winter season, the 4D short film called ‘’Ed & Edda: Nachts im Park’’ was shown and in the 2020 summer season, the 11-minute 2D film called "Aufbruch nach Batavia" was screened three times a day. The ‘’Magic Cinema’’ holds 448 spectators and its screen is 19 by 9 meters large. In the evening, after the park closes, you can watch the latest films there, often with additional 4D effects. Overall, the Europa-Park offers a show programme of over six hours. The Park’s TV production The Europa-Park gains more and more importance as a media centre. Channels, such as BR, Sat.1, SWR, ZDF, Nickelodeon and Prosieben, all produce shows in the park. Each year since the summer of 1995, SWR airs its show called ‘’Immer wieder sonntags,’’ which is moderated by Stefan Mross, live from the IWS-Arena in the Europa-Park.
