My Mother is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World, written by Becky Reyher and ilustrated by Ruth Gannett,[1] tells the story of a Ukrainian girl named Varya, who fell asleep while she and her mother were reaping the fields.When Varya woke up her mother was gone. Varya desperately started to look for her mother and asked the townspeople for help. When the townspeople asked Varya to describe her mother, she simply described her as "the most beautiful women in the world." Everyone in the village stared to bring Varya many beatiful women but Varya insit that they were not her mother. Finally a women with no teeth and who is pleasingly plump came and Varya recognized her as her mother.[2]
