Using GIS to Model and Forecast HIV/AIDS Rates in Africa edit

There are two processes involved in the using of GIS to study the progress of HIV/AIDS in Africa, these are: To transform and interpolate sets of annual-based rates of HIV/AIDS into area data and to remove annual HIV/AIDS prevalence rates from the interpolated country level maps.

The UNAIDS Estimation and Projection Package (EEP) software is used. For many nations in Africa, it indicates that their HIV/AIDS epidemic has reached the maturity stage and this is evidenced by the typical S-shaped curves in the trends over time. --Nux 90 (talk) 08:17, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Nux 90
