The Magnuson–Stevens Act was enacted as the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The U.S. House of Representatives bill H.R. 200 was passed by the 94th United States Congressional session and enacted into law by President Gerald Ford on April 13, 1976.[1]

Policy changes while Obama was in Office

The Obama Administration made a few contributions to sustainable fisheries while in office. At one point Obama and Bush administrations we in support of the Magnuson-Stevens Act.[2]
