The Amerivision Song Contest 1975 was the twentieth edition of the annual Amerivision Song Contest, organised by the American Broadcasting Union (ABU) and host broadcaster Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT). The edition was hosted in the Queen's Hall, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, as the country earned the right to host the contest by winning the previous edition.
Aside from being the edition where the classic twelve points debuted, this edition was also notable for the drop from 19 to 16 countries participating, as Argentina, El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Venezuela didn't participate of this edition, despite that, Panama returned to the contest after two years of absence.
Host picking
editOnly one venue in trinidad and tobago offered to host the event. Said venue had to be expanded from 750 to 1,200 seats in order to do so.
