Andre Nogueira was born in Recife, Brazil, on August 19th, 1969. His father, Jose Silvio Nogueira was a barber and a psychologist, and his mother was an elementary school teacher. He attended Colegio Salesiano Sagrado Coracao in Recife, where he finished secondary school in 1985.
