Bio

I am currently a student enrolled at Everett Community college where I am working towards a DTA in Arts and Science. I spent most of my life living in the U.S, but I've also lived parts of my life living in the Philippines where my mother was originally born; and having lived in both Eastern and Western societies has given me the ability to think and evaluate in both frames of mind. In my spare time some things I enjoy doing is surfing the web, reading, playing piano, video games, and caring for various pets of mine.

I see Wikipedia as something unique due to the fact that anyone can contribute to existing content, or create their own. Some areas of Wikipedia that particularly interest me are articles on history (mainly things that take place anno domini), modern world geography, as well as most contemporary cultures found in the Eastern Hemisphere. Considering the Eastern Hemisphere was allegedly the birthplace of humans and home to the cradle of civilization, I find it interesting to look back and see how the regions have changed throughout history, and how they are today.

Article Critique

As someone who has plays video games as a side hobby, I especially have particular interest in horror games. So upon visiting the Wikipedia page of “Neverending Nightmares”, a fairly obscure and unknown horror game, I found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Structure/Completeness, Grammar/Voice, and Citations.

Structure/Completeness

The Wikipedia page for this Neverending Nightmares is missing a very large amount of information regarding its video game design. The closest the current page gets to covering design is a sentence alluding to outside influencing work, but still fails mention the specifics on the design of the game itself. In addition to this, the “Story” section of the article is also very incomplete, having only some background info, a brief summary of the beginning, and the endings of the game. The article has little to no information on what occurs in-between the beginning and the end.

Grammar/Voice

The author(s) of the article did in fact use neutral and unbiased language. However, there are a few grammatical errors and instances of informal language within the article.  Some examples are uncapitalized headings/titles, and awkward use of parenthesizes with filler comments.  Nonetheless, the articles tone and language is both formal and neutral barring a few infrequent instances  

Citations

The article currently has a total of 14 citations and around 700 total words. And though most of the major statements said in the article are backed by a citation, there are still numerous assertions and quotes used that are not cited.  In addition to this, one of the citations given no longer works and directs users to an empty domain, thus making the citation unverifiable. Luckily the statement attached to the dead citation had a second citation to it, so the claim made is still verifiable by the remaining citation. Aside from the dead link and the need for a few more citations for some of the lesser statements made, that is all that is needed for this article in terms of citations.
