Work History

I served in the US Army for six years in Military Intelligence. Since getting out, I have had numerous jobs as a software engineer.

Education and Certification

I have an Associates Degree in Psychology from Ashworth University, a Diploma in Computer Programming from the National Radio Institute, and am both A+ and Network+ Certified. I also am trained in locksmithing. However, most of my knowledge comes from self study. I enjoy reading non-fiction books on subjects as diverse as math, science, electronics, cryptography, computer programming, foreign languages, philosophy, Christianity, religion, psychology, firearms, and martial arts.

Computer Experience

I have worked with most major computer languages including Java, C, C++, C#, Pascal, BASIC, Visual Basic, Perl, Tcl/TK, BASH, Bourne Shell, X86 ASM, VHDL, HTML, and XML. Currently, I work almost exclusively with Windows machines, but I have also worked with Linux, Solaris, SunOS, and VMS machines. I own a Sun LX, IPX, Sparc 5, and an Enterprise 250, as well as too many PCs to count.

Languages

One of my hobbies is the study of foreign languages. I have a basic conversational knowledge of German and Mandarin Chinese. I also have a basic knowledge of Greek, Latin, French, Spanish, Italian, and Korean.

Martial Arts

I am a second degree black belt in TaeKwonDo, and have also studied Tai Chi, Hapkido, and Arnis/Escrima. One of my favorite things to study in martial arts is weapons. I have trained with the bo staff, jo staff, escrima sticks, short sword, sai, cane, Chinese fan, and knife.

Ham Radio

I am an Extra class ham radio operator. I enjoy using the 2 meter, and 20 meter bands. My primary modes of operation are PSK and packet radio.

Religion

I am an evangelical Christian, but I also enjoy the study of other religions. In particular, I think Buddhist and Taoist philosophy have a lot to offer the western world. As a Christian, I believe first and foremost in Christ's command to love your neighbor. Because of that, I do not tolerate bigotry from either my Christian brothers, or others. I firmly believe that Christians must show the same love, respect, and compassion to others, regardless of their race, color, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or nationality, that we wish to receive from them. This was the most basic message of Christ's ministry.

Personal

I have been married since 1995, and have a beautiful daughter born in 1999. I enjoy a wide range of music including rock, heavy metal, alternative, classical Chinese, banjo, bluegrass, country, Christian contemporary, pop, jazz, blues, swing, and many others.
