The British reoccupation of Hong Kong took place between mid-August and mid-September 1945 following the end of World War II in Asia.

Prelude edit

The British Government began preparations for the re-occupation in 1943, with the Hong Kong Planning Unit being established in London. The Foreign Office later handled much of the planning.[1]
