No One and the Somebodies is an independent noise punk band from Hawthorne, NY made up of brothers Brian Yankou (drums/ vocals), Steve Yankou (guitar/ vocals), Kevin Yankou (bass/ vocals) and Bobby Yankou (keyboard/ vocals).[1] They are known for playing ornate, experimental indie punk[1][2] [3][4] at their raucous live shows, which are often in small, all-ages, D.I.Y. venues, including Wespac in White Plains, NY[5] and their new home base, a punk house called Paul Shaffer's House in the Bronx.[6] No One and the Somebodies is also known for using unusual objects to make their music, including electric toothbrushes, screwdrivers and a three-foot section of highway guardrail.[2] NOATS has been an active part of the independent music scene in Westchester County, NY and New York City since 2001.[5] They have released two full length albums, 2004's "Pretend You're Out of Control"[7] and 2007's "Suspicious Package",[8] which became available on the K Records website in August of 2009.[9] The No One and the Somebodies sticker has been spotted in many places all over the country prompting Time Out New York to say that No One and the Somebodies "has long had the most aggressive urinal-stickering campaign of any NYC band."[3] In march of 2009, No One and the Somebodies performed as the halftime show at Westchester County's Suburban Brawl Roller Derby in Yonkers, NY. [10] Steve Yankou has self-published a zine about Westchester music called "Imitating Art" and, in 2008, wrote an article about the scene in Westchester Magazine.[5]
