Magnus Bergström (born Magnus Fredrik Bergström on July 23, 1984) is a swedish culture journalist and high school teacher in media studies, Swedish and literature.

Biography

Bergström was born in Karlstad, Sweden. He is the second of four children, his brothers and sister being Niklas (born Niklas Andreas Bergström on August 22, 1982), Daniel (born Jan Daniel Bergström on July 7, 1986) and Janina (born Thea Janina Erika Bergström on May 23, 1988).

His mother Marlies Bergström (born Marlies Regine Genz on January 21, 1960) is of german descent, born and raised in Berlin. His father Jan Olof Bergström (born July 1, 1956) is from the little town of Ekshärad of the Hagfors municipality. Magnus is therefore bilingual and speaks both fluent swedish and german.

Magnus was raised in his fathers hometown, Ekshärad. He lived there while studying first at the Ekshärad school and later in Hagfors during his late teenages. Still to turn 20 years of age, Magnus moved to his birth city to study at the Karlstad university. Two years later, in 2005, he made degrees in studies of the swedish language and literature. Later that year he moved to Umeå, to study culture journalism at the Umeå University. During his studies he became a movie reviewer at a student magazine called Vertex and made the profession practice at Värmlands Folkblad.
