This page demonstrates meta-templates, and how they can be used to standardize the display of population statistics in various ways.
Since there is a controversy over the server impact of meta-templates like this, no decision has been made yet if they should be used for the Japan cities or not. It will be discussed soon.
The first four lines show
- Population and Date the population was updated in the main template
- Population with no other info
- Population with a small as of Date for info boxes, etc
- Population with a normal-sized as of Date for text paragraphs.
Everything after the first four lines is filler; but, the idea should be clear.
