We bottom post

edit

We bottom post on all talk pages on wikipedia and while you may prefer to have the newest posts on the top of your talk page this will not be possible to enforce and it may become annoying for you to regularly move posts around. This is for two reasons; first, when editors use the + button at the top of the talk page the post will be placed at the bottom of the talk page (like this is) and many editors who use scripts, such as Twinkle, Friendly and AutoWikiBrowser, to make posts on user talk pages will only bottom post too. It's up to you but I suggest you rethink this. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 02:06, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Postal history, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. There is absolutely no evidence given, nor to be found online, that this is a topic of postal history which is the subject of this article. ww2censor (talk) 22:11, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Speedy creation

edit

A tag has been placed on Speedy creation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. DavidWS (contribs) 18:30, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Truly speedy deletion, congratulation, thank you, I placed the hang on banner, and explained in the talk page that I'll be right back from dinner, but when I got back, the page was gone with the wind. You guys rock, beside, the page displayed an underconstruction not ready=true banner before it was tagged by speedy deletion, really, good job! Nehmeta is to jump through the silver screen and trigger the reflection inside the mirror labyrinth to identify Nehtefa, the mirror-bot. More explicitly, the meta, aim or goal of Nehtefa, the mirrorbot is to artificially stimulate a ЯOЯЯIMIRROR to build letters and words which leave the impression, that what they reflect is exactly what it, he or she, they or I am looking for. Nehtefa is a self conscious MIRROR.ЯOЯЯIM

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Huston we have a problem

edit

I started the article E-mail Letter. An E-mail Letter is a letter sent like an email, delivered like a letter. The e-mail letter service provider prints the email, puts it into an envelope and sends it to the receiver by "snail mail".

The problem I have is that the postman delivering the letter could be called a mail delivery agent, so there's a thin line between postman and mail delivery agent, while the machine which is printing and envelopping the letter also could be referred to a mail transfer agent.

The problem I'm having is a differentiation between real world and cyberworld. Just like a letter can refer to a written message or a letter in the alphabet, a mail delivery agent could also be a postman, and a mail transfer agent could be the printer and envelopping machine which transfers the email into a letter.

I'd be happy, if you leave me a note on my talking page about your opinion and the decision you have made. Copies: Nehtefa talking page, mail transfer agent talk, mail delivery agent talk.

Speedy deletion of E-Mail Letter

edit

A tag has been placed on E-Mail Letter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

First Entry

edit

Stop deletion, start editing. Instead of deleting entire pages, I recommend to simply remove the parts which don't belong. I can't believe that my entire entry about cash gifting and cash gifting programs had to be removed. Talk1. I did some contributions on the german wiki, where my entries where deleted at once, and my account was blocked. This can't be the right wiki strategy. Picture this, a new contributor writes an article, which gets deleted instantly. Now ask yourself, does this encourage the new contributor to write more articles? No. Does it encourage the new contributor to write better articles? It depends. Some may but others may just throw the white flag.

My suggestion is to allow new editors a little freedom. If they see that their contributions are valued and expanded on, instead of deleted, they are more likely to continue with contributions. Ok, some contributions may be lousy. Such as mine. But if you delete it, I'm going to quit developing and maybe even using wikipedia. If not, I may grow, my contributions may grow, my articles may improve. That way everyone would be able to contribute, and every newbie, would be encouraged to participate.

I know, this is not easy to handle, it requires more work, to transform a lousy article into a perfect one than to simply delete it. But if the number one rule is to improve articles, rather than deleting them, the encyclopedia would grow essentially faster.

Fine, the result would be, that instead of no article, you would encounter a poor or a lousy written article. But at least there is an article and you can improve it. But don't just delete it. Have I gotten my point across? If someone contributes, there is a reason for it. And if you delete that contribution, you not only delete an article, you potentially delete a contributor. And the result is incompleteness.

So please be picky in deleting articles, actually, don't delete any articles at all, move them instead, into the appropriate category, cause there is an appropriate category for everything. And be especially picky, when blocking contributors.

AfD nomination of E-mail letter

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is E-mail letter. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/E-mail letter (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:21, 11 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
