Oniipa constituency

among the 10 constituencies in oshikoto region, oniipa is recognised as the second largest constituency situated in the northern part of Namibia between Ondangwa and Omuthiyagwiipundi ONIIPA LOCATION.it is currently ruled by Honorable Johannes Shiindi for almost 8 years now after the former councillor honorable Elifas Kamanya COUNCILLOR .

like any other constituencies, Oniipa has some major institutions which made it to be a popular constituency such as the Evangelican Lutheran churches in Namibia (ELCIN) which was recently brought in by missionaries. another major institution in Oniipa is the Onandjokwe Lutheran hospital which was constructed by the Finnish missionaries in 1908 and it has been serving the nation to date. further more, oniipa has some beautiful recreations that attracts visitors such as fig-stone (omukwiyugwemanya) situated in Oshigambo.

Oniipa has a quiet diverse surrounding area with 23,913 inhabitants and this means it holds highest population above all constituencies in Oshikoto and this was proved by the census results and the constituencies of Namibia 2004 DIVERSITY . like all other councillors, hon yaShiindi tried to provide his community with all the needs and services such as adequate water, electricity, educational institutions, medical service, tarred roads so that can have access to different places as well as employment where necessary.

due to the fact that Oniipa has a growing population, it also has many schools to accommodate its vast population and provide them with better educations to mention a few there are schools such as Oshigambo High School which has been operating for years now and Oniipa primary school which is located on the heart of the constituency and it was named after the Oniipa church as well as Hans Daniel Namuhuja Secondary School which was named after the famous books publisher Mr Namuhuja in Oniipa..
