Panimalar Engineering College is situated in Nasarethpettai, about 10 km from Chennai. It was established by Satyabama Group. The first batch of engineers graduated in 2004. Currently Mr.Rajapandi is the principal and Mr.Chinnadurai is the secretary.

- Students must eat in Panimalar Mess
- Students must use Panimalar's bus service
- Boys and girls should not speak to each other
- Should not wear T-Shirt , Sports shoes, Color Laces, Jeans wear, Slippers
- You shouldn't take more than 4 day's of leave per semester
- You have no rights to question management
- You have no rights to absent on college functions
- You must use Panimalar notebooks to take notes in class though they are expensive
- Not supposed to use cellphones and Laptops in Campus!
- Girls are banned from wearing high heel footwear
These rules were formed by Jeppiar who is regarded as modern father of education in Tamil Nadu. These rules are monitored by private policing in Panimalar campus which is led by Mr.Rajamani.
Panimalar management fiercely defends its rules saying they have formed for students well fare.

editParents in Chennai seems to have good opinion about Panimalar College as they believe these strict rules will enforce discipline in students, the students think otherwise. Many say the Panimalarian rules are nothing but management sponsored harassment of students. The lecturers and Professors in panimalar have their own set of rules too! They too fell harassed by management, though they have not admitted it in public yet.
Achievements
editThough Panimalar is a business success, it has no significant achievements in the field of education. There are no research papers published yet. Students attribute to lack of access to library and labs. Labs at Panimalar aint opened 24 hours a day, access to labs have a strict control, students are allowed to do old fashioned experiments targeted to gain marks in exams alone. Many say Panimalr is suffering from a consequence thats suffered by a closed society. its backed by the fact that internet acess is sevearly restricted in Panimalar campus.

Constitutional Violation
editFreedom of speech is banned in Panimalar which is direct violation of Indian Constitution. Yet action has not been taken possibly because highly politically and economically influential management.

Student Groups
editMany colleges have a democratic system of student election. Panimalar doesn't allow democracy to survive. Instead no student elections are allowed on campus. Perhaps divide and conquer technique suits best to the management. Those students who raise their voice are cornered, they are forced to bring their parents to college, and their parents are humiliates in front of the children. This psaycological tactic seem to work best.
The college is so oppressive that they'll successfully deface this wikipedia page rather than offering any proof that students freedom is allowed.
