Are we really literate?

Literacy is the ability of a person to read, write and understand something & Being highly educated is not important as make good person If the behaviour of a person is good with others then that person is really literate.

I you think we are not literate then you are wrong because you are reading this and it is a sign of Literacy. Now-a-days technology is making lot of progress everything has become possible for example – We can see person face-to-face in few clicks and car is moving without driver and that is Google Driver-less car. Literacy is not only reading and understanding but if a person is really literate he must be in Discipline, follow rules obey elders all good qualities must be in him/her. If he/she is having these qualities he/she is really literate. Real Literacy is to embed this values in us. Persons having these values were A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabbhai Patel.

As you read first part and you must be feeling we are literate. But it is not like that. I personally feel that we are not really literate. Do you know why?

There are many people who are educated but still they are having bad addictions such as taking drugs, smoking, drinking alcohol, etc. Suppose an accident happens in your area. What is your duty? You must help that injured person. But are you really doing like that. No, majority of people just go and click photo and share on whatsapp and Facebook. We are also believing on superstitions. Why? Do you know what superstitions are? Showing ignorance of the laws of nature and faith in magic or chance.

Fraud gurus or baba’s they makes fool to us by telling wrong things to like, If black cat passes your road then the day will be dangerous for you. This is how we are literate?

Conclusion

This is not a matter of discussing that we are literate or illiterate. It depends on your thinking, talent, education, strength. But what you say it must come in your behaviour then only you may called really literate.
