Dubai Academic City (DAC), was established after the development of Dubai Knowledge Village near Dubai Internet City, when officially launched in May 2006. The intention is for Academic City to be a base for schools, colleges and universities, while Dubai Knowledge Village will house training institutes and educational service organisations.Total area of DAC is expected to cover 129 million sq ft and the development is sceduled to be completed by 2012.Dubai Academic City is in Al Ruwayyah off the the Dubai-Al Ain Rd.By 2015, Dubai Acedemic city expects to have almost 40,000 students attending 40 different institutes The academic city will be built over an area of 129 million square foot,and will be allocated to different development phases, according to the project's master plan. The development is set for completion in 2012.
