Bio
editAbout Me
editSome of my interests are reading, playing volleyball, playing my instruments, and hanging out with my friends and family. I also like playing with my animals. Having a dog can help you physically by encouraging you go outside to take them for a walk and help with your mental health. [1] I also enjoy writing and hope to become an author one day of a young adult book and a children's book.
My Wikipedia interests
editIf I work on Wikipedia content in the future, I would probably work on content related to animals and/or books and authors I enjoy. Those are topics that I normally enjoy researching. With my contributions with animal content, I hope to help people be informed about animals and how to properly take care of them. With my content about books and authors, I hope to spark an interest in reading.
Article Evaluation
editI have visited the Issaquah Salmon Days multiple times since I was very young. I wanted to learn more about its history. I visited the Issaquah Salmon Days article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: there are citations needed, it needs to be more up-to-date, and it should have more about its history.
Citations
editIn the entire article, there were only 3 reference links. There were lots of specific things talked about in the article with dates and numbers and there were no citations provided. It talked about things happening in a certain year but didn’t give us anything proving it was actually true or not.
Age
editThe article needs to be more up-to-date. They gave us numbers of people who attended the event in 2010 and that’s it. It says the things they have at the festival but we don’t know what could have been changed or added since the article was written. It was just stating things they had there.
Completeness
editThere should be more about the festival's history. In the history section it talked about how it grew in popularity and things that happened that were more political with mentioning the Chamber of Commerce and the mayor. There were sections about the festival attractions but it didn’t go deeper into the history of how it got there and began.
Summary
editAfter reading the article, I would say this article is poor because it is lacking multiple important things. I don’t know if most of what I read was true or not because there were so little citations. I came to the article to learn about the history of how everything got to be the way it was and it didn’t give me much information. The information wasn’t current and mostly mentions things that happened in the 70s and 80s.
