Ardgay & District Community Council

The community council serving the old parish known as Kincardine & Croick is called Ardgay & District Community Council (A&D CC). [1] lies along the southern boundary of the Scottish county of Sutherland; the old county boundary being the council's southern boundary. The A&D CC northern boundary closely follows the Dornoch Firth, the Kyle of Sutherland and the River Oykel.

The Ardgay & District Community Council [2] like most others in Scotland came into existence as a result of the [3].

The largest community in the area is Ardgay, hence the naming; Culrain is the other population centre. [4] of the A&D CC area is 598, Ardgay may have about 200 inhabitants, and Culrain about 80.

  • To act to further the interests of their communities
  • To be consulted on planning applications within their area (The Town & Country Planning (General Development Procedure) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1996)
  • To consider exercising their powers to object to the granting, renewal or transfer of liquor licences. (The Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976)
