Lubriphonic is a 5-piece rock/funk/blues band formed in Chicago, IL.

The band is made up of Giles Corey (vocals, guitar), Richard King (drums), Pennal Johnson (bass), Charles Prophet (saxophone), and Norman Palm (trombone). The band was originally formed in 2002 by Corey and King at The Checkerboard Lounge, a legendary blues club on Chicago’s South Side.

Members of Lubriphonic have played alongside blues and jazz greats including Koko Taylor, Chuck Berry, James Cotton, Junior Wells, Syl Johnson, Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, Billy Branch, Magic Slim, Eddy Clearwater, Buddy Miles, Chaka Kahn, George Duke, The Ohio Players, Liquid Soul, and Lenny Kravitz.

Live Performances Lubriphonic has performed with Widespread Panic, Trombone Shorty, Galactic, Bruce Hornsby, Buddy Guy, George Clinton & P-Funk, The Derek Trucks Band, Jon Popper, Buckwheat Zydeco, The New Mastersounds, Karl Denson, and more. They tour extensively, crisscrossing the country playing festivals, theaters and clubs spending over 220 days a year on the road.
