Khanya Mkangisa is a South African television presenter and actress. She was born on March 13, 1988 in Peddie, Eastern Cape, South Africa as an only child and was raised by a single parent.As an actress, she is best known for her roles on the SABC1 series Forced Love, Zone 14 and Intersexions. As a presenter, she is well known for her work on various YOTV shows and the e.tv reality competition series Shield Teen No Sweat Dance Challenge.[1].

Career

Khanya made her TV debut at the age of 14 as a youth show presenter on YOTV.She got her first TV job as a Grade 10 learner[2] and the performing bug bit.... She remained with YOTV for three years.She studied at AFDA in Johannesburg, achieving a BA degree in motion picture and television.

Career: Early 2010

With a degree in film and television, she starred in the series Intersexions[4] and The Lab and since joining Isidingo two years ago, she’s made the role of Aphiwe Nzimande a big audience draw-card.

While her role was initially quite minor, she did so well that the producers brought her back. Khanya shares a fair amount of screen time with Makgotso M who plays Lerato’s spirited and rebellious younger sister. They’re both really professional and it shows on-screen.


On the flip side of her celebrity lifestyle, Khanya enjoys a great working and personal relationship with Boity and the two have travelled on vacations together. Khanya also works closely with other celebrities as she participated in Thando Thabethe’s ‘Make It Stop’ campaign to support the drive against women abuse in the country.

The self-driven and ambitious actress says her presenting skills come naturally while acting is a passion and this has helped her in strategically balancing all facets of her successful career.

Hoping to crack a feature film role soon, Khanya isn’t only about acting. Owning her own clothing or hair boutique is high on her list and she has the eye for it.
