After graduation from Long Island University in 1969, I did my Peace Corps training. (Three months in Hawaii was really tough!) My group (Samoa Group V) arrived in Samoa on 4 January 1970. I was assigned as a maths teacher at Palauli Jr. High School on the island of Savai'i. In 1971, I was transferred to the island of Upolu where I taught at A'ana Jr. High School at Fasito'otai. At the end of my PC service, I remained in Samoa until February 1977. During that time I lived at Malie with Aiga Sa Toelupe, and continued teaching at A'ana Jr. High School.

Currently, I am working for NYC at the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunication.

I am a stamp collector, specializing in the stamps of Samoa. I have exhibited the Samoan stamps of the John Davis Post Office from 1886-1900. My single frame exhibit, Samoa's 1-Shilling Bisect, won the first ever single frame Champion of Champions completion sponsored by the American Philatelic Society in 2000[1]. My multi-frame exhibit, The John Davis Post Office in Samoa, 1886-1900, has been shown several times at National Stamp shows, and has garnered several gold medals.
