"Nottingham" is an American Alternative/Indie/ Pop-Punk band from New Jersey, who consists of vocalist and lead guitarist Darrell Jones, drummer Nick Baughman, bassist William Sims and rhythm guitarist Brian Darazsdi. Though members Darrell and Brian have played music together since childhood, Nottingham officially formed in 2008. The band signed a 1-record deal with indie label Oort Records in 2009,[1] and released their debut album "Talk to Strangers" [2] on August 3, 2010. The band's name is taken from a street named Nottingham Way in New Jersey, where the Darrell and Brian grew up making music.

2008-2009: Formation, Demo Songs, and First Album

While away at separate colleges, Darrell and Brian began talking about putting a band together. They reached out to Brian's cousin, Nick Baughman to play drums for the group. Though he only a sophomore in high school at the time, he was an exceptional drummer and a perfect fit for the band. While on winter break in 2008, the three of them got together, wrote a handful of songs, and took them to Ecstatica Studios in New York to record their first Demo [3] . Having to return to school a week later, the band shot their own press photos, packaged the demo with artwork, and created a myspace page to share with friends, fans, and potential labels, and began building a little bit of a buzz. Within a few months, the band got offered a record deal from Oort Records, a sub-label of Lobster Records (Yellowcard, Over it), and they agreed to hit the studio in summer 2009 to record their debut full-length album [4] .
