Career

edit

Born in 1970, Morris turned professional in 1991. He first made significant progress at a ranking event at the 1993 Asian Open, where he defeated Gavin Burns, Robert Foxall, veteran David Taylor, Richard Pincott and the Canadian former world number four Kirk Stevens 5–0 to reach the last 64. There, he faced Dennis Taylor and led 2–1, but scored only 59 points in the next three frames and lost 2–5.

Although he never progressed beyond the qualifying rounds at a tournament again, Morris reached his highest ranking, 190th, for the 1996/1997 season. During that season, he entered only three events, being defeated by Adrian Gunnell in the UK Championship, Nick Pearce in the British Open and Ian Brumby in the World Championship. He left professional snooker in 1997, aged 27.
