Career

edit

Born in 1957, Flight turned professional in 1991. However, over the course of the next six seasons, he failed to win a single match; the closest Flight came to victory was a 4–5 loss to Jonathan Bagley in the 1992 Welsh Open, and by the same scoreline to Nicholas Segal in the 1995 World Championship.

The match against Segal was the last Flight played as a professional; he had begun that season ranked 446th in the world, but retained his place on tour until the end of the 1996/1997 season, when he was relegated, aged 39.

Flight entered qualifying for the World Championship as an amateur in 2008 and 2009, losing his first match on both occasions, and latterly the 2011 World Seniors Championship, where veteran David Taylor beat him 2–0.
