Story Of Narcissus An effect of the god’s punishment and signifies the transfer of life/ identity from a dying man to a flower. Narcissus, and attractive young male, described as vain who falls in love with himself, thus causing him to bent over the lake to see his reflection but fell and drowned. By the area where he died a flower appeared that the nymphs name Narcissus. Later it became the symbol of self-absorbed and egotistical to describe someone who adores themselves and don’t have affection towards no one else.
