Following is the information about me I've decided to share on my page.

The name

My username is a reference to "Stuck at Home" by The Noise Grinders, a punk rock song part of the stock music library of the the phone I had when I was 10-13 years old. The lyrics read:

"You’re stuck in a bottle and you can’t get out

You’re pushing and you’re pushing but it’s no use, it sucks

Outside is a monkey in a red jump suit

He’s pointing and he’s laughing at you and he’s crying, cruel

And it sucks"

I frequently went on several hours long car trips as a kid, and as I had only this and the 4 other songs in the phones stock library to listen to, the lyrics have been engrained into my memory to the extent that I still occasionally catch myself humming it over a decade later - including when I decided on the username for this account.

The song also presents a trivial, yet intriguing case for me, as the "band" who produced the song never existed. If you make a quick google search on The Noise Grinders, you'll find that they have produced no other songs, and that the song is not part of any album sold anywhere, nor are they part of any music label. After a bit of research, I presume that the name "The Noise Grinders", along with the names of the other "artists" whose songs were in the phone's music library, is a pseudonym used by a single music producer that was hired by Sony to make songs for their new phone. Why would they do that, you ask? Probably because it's cheaper than acquiring licenses to use music from real artists.

Personal life

Hobbies and interests

I usually spend my free time reading and learning about topics I find interesting, no matter how trivial (like above), although I primarily read about history and astronomy. I particularly enjoy watching videos, but I also read books on the topics. If I'm not doing that, I'm playing video games or doing something with my girlfriend.

Education and future

I've completed the first 2 semesters at my history bachelor programme, and plan on resuming next autumn. Furthermore, I will probably enroll in year courses in Norwegian and English on the side while I finish my master programme in history. My dream is to tutor in secondary education, and make the subjects I am interested in more appealing and fun to future generations.
