While reading throughout the article “Criminal Psychology”, I read over many things that can be changed or added. Starting off, adding a History section of Criminal Psychology would be very beneficial to the article. Letting readers know where this concept originated from, or how it was discovered would change the article drastically. Adding this information would present a more informative, well-rounded article. This would also provide many more details about this topic, and the readers would learn more about Criminal Psychology. Another thing I’m going to do to improve this article is list the many more jobs of Criminal Psychologists. This will help to shape the article better and provide more examples of what people can do within this career. Even briefly describing each job in one or two sentences would improve the article. If someone is reading this article because they are interested in this field, having a list of several job opportunities could help them determine what they want to do with their lives. I will use the sources I’ve gathered to make these changes, and add the history of Criminal Psychology, along with listing more jobs within the field.
History:
Add:
Criminal psychology is a psychology that has been used for many years. It originates
from the end of 18th century and is now viewed as the predecessor of criminology. This
combines aspect of the human mind, along with psychology, and why people commit crimes.
Four major aspects are combined while looking at this topic in whole, and they are
philosophical, medical, legal, and biological. It is also referred to as an applied psychology,
which is the different use of psychological methods of scientific psychology to solve problems.
This is also seen as an academic discipline, as it is the origin of what deters the mind of a human.
It also merges criminal justice with psychology.
Salary:
Add:
Criminal Psychologist start off by making a set amount of money, and then their pay
increases as experience and time within the field increases. The average amount of a criminal
psychologist is $58,246 and can increase to $95,000. Several factors contribute to how much a
person makes within the field, and that is how much time a person has worked within the field,
and the city with which a person works in. Criminal psychologists who work within larger cities
tend to make more than psychologists who work in lower populated cities. Those who work for
hospitals or federal government tend to have a lower salary.
Workplaces:
Add:
Criminal psychologists can work within several different institutions. Some of these places
include courts, mental health centers, different government branches such as local, state, and
federal government, probation officer, clinical counselor, and an investigative journalist. They
are employed in numerous different places, while some work for private institutions, and others
work for the government, whether that be local, state, or federal government. Criminal
psychologists also spend a significant time interviewing people or researching the life of the
offender. They also typically work in a courtroom, and this is where some of the interviewing or
testimonies can take place. In special situations, they work federal agents and police officers to
solve crimes, and they develop profiles of criminals.

Article Proposal:
The article I choose to edit and add to was Criminal Psychology. This article lacked some
important and educational information about this topic. This C rated level article provided some
details about this topic that were useful, but adding things like the history or where it originated
from can helped a reader tremendously. While researching further information about criminal
Psychology, I determined that adding things such as the salary was also a very important factor.
When determining what career path to go into, people view this as highly important, as earned
income is crucial to everyday life. While looking deeper into criminal Psychology, I noticed the
article listed some jobs a person in that field can peruse, but it also lacked some. I researched
further, and added some jobs that were missing. To draft my article, I will be using several
different websites such as http://crimi, https://www, https://www.on, https://pubm, https://www to
help me draft my article.
