Mohiba Khalil Mohiba Khalil (born in Haifa 11-3-1961) is a recognised poet. She studied Social Medicine in Haifa and is graduated as a psychologist with a Master of Arts in Psychology and pedagology. She has the great fortune of having grown up between protective walls, whichin she was always guaranteed an abundance of knowledge,art, love and getting aware of different religions. Unfortunately the country in which she grew up offered the least possible peaceful environment a child can grow up in. She was a child in a war zone. The pain came anyday. The country in which she was born is beautiful to look at but is covered in scars. Conflicts dominate this area that has been called Israel since 1948. This is also part of her history. She has seen how people suffer on both sides. The Jewish immigrants after a terrible war in Europe and the Palestinians with the war in the Middle East. The conflict seems hopeless butthere is a solution. If people change their way of thinking by getting trust and respect in eachother there exists a possibility to change attitude.Off course this will require an enormous reversal of mentality. Mohiba Khalil is married to a dutch dental officer who encourages her with her view on the world and she has three children who are all creative in music as well as they study at highest level educational institutes. Mohiba Khalil gives as a guestspeaker lectures about a new dimension of civilisation. She tries to let the people think different and creates a way of thinking that can give peace to everybody.She spreads love for the world.
She wants to let people know more about the east, therefore she was involved in a musical project among the Egyptian composer Omar Khairat. In 2005 a DVD/CD project was done in Cairo with the orchestra of Omar Khairat. The DVD/CD Egyptian Ouverture was released, by a dutch production team.
The dutch publisher, Karakteruitgevers, released an autobiografy about Mohiba Khalil in 2008, a book not about politics nor about religion. It is how she views the situation and this is why this story does not take political or religious sides. It is a personal message: a wish for everyone to have a pleasant safe place to live. The title of the book is: De schreeuw van een kind.(English: The cry for a child)
Her poems are filmed and translated into Dutch, German, English, French and Spanish.The poems are performed by famous native actors, as well as by herself in Arabic. The poems are also extra visualised by extraordinary art-work. It is to be expected that the world knows more about Mohiba Khalil in 2010.
