Mohammad Hosseini is currently a computer science MSc (Masters of Science) student in the School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University, BC, Canada. He was accepted to Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2007 and received his BSc degree in Computer Engineering with geart honors in 2011.
He joined Simon Fraser University immediately after he finished his BSc in September 2011. He was affiliated with the Network Systems Lab, where he teamed up with Nokia as a part of his Masters thesis to work on a joint project. He is currently focusing on Networked Multimedia and Games, specially streaming optimization and power efficiency in Mobile 3D Graphics and 3D virtual environments for handheld devices.
In the past, during his BSc, he was affiliated with the M-VASLab (Mobile Value Added Services Lab), in association with MCI (Mobile Company of Iran) under supervision of Dr. H.R. Rabiee, and has got much experience working in Sharif Advanced ICT Research Center. As a part of his BSc thesis, he designed, simulated and implemented a secure and multitask SIM toolkit application based on GSM network standards for Smart Cards. His undergraduate research led to introduction of a new mobile secure data transceiving system using JSR-177 standard as a security element to integrate SIM Card into J2ME. His work made him to be the pioneer (and the only one) to introduce and apply this technology in Iran's mobile services industries.
Mr. Hosseini is a student member at ACM. He was assigned as a chair in "Adapting to Mobility" session at 2012 ACM Multimedia Systems conference, Chappel Hill, USA, in February 2012. He was a reviewer at Springer Multimedia Systems Journal in January 2012, and he served as a general chair assistant in 2011 IEEE ICNP conference, October 2011. He also holds both the Entrance Scholarship and the Dean of Graduate Studies Graduate Fellowship Award at Simon Fraser University.
