Professional background edit
I am Martijn Katan from the Netherlands. In the past I have edited pages on nutrition subjects. I worked in that field for 40 years as a professor of nutrition. I have occasionally edited pages on Jewish scriptures (Tanach, Talmud) and on other topics. In future I plan to post mainly on energy and climate, with an emphasis on biomass.
Much of my early work in chemistry and biochemistry dealt with energy conversions in molecules, plants and yeast cells. I have some 400 publications in peer-reviewed journals which together have been cited about 35,000 times [1]
