History
edit2010-2014: Formation and To The West
editThe Endless Pursuit began in Tucson, Arizona in 2010 when founding members Gabe Montiel, Jordan Carranco, and Michael Shaheen began writing songs together as Man Overboard. Zane and Anders Zway from The Last Act of Defiance joined in late 2010 to fortify the rhythm section and bring a variety of punk influences. The Endless pursuit was named by front-man Game Montiel's sister after hearing the band's music.
With the help of fellow band members Gabe Montiel built a studio in his back yard to facilitate recording of the band's first full length LP To the West Converting the one car garage into the band's recording studio took four months including design and sound treatment. The band signed to Cactus Rock Records on November 2, 2012[5]. Zane and Gabe had written songs before the formation of the band which were brought to the first album including superhero and cantankerous and only needed horn parts to be added before tracking. Other tracks such as Gunslinger were written once the band had completely formed.
"To the West" was released in in the United states on March 7, 2014 and in Europe on March 29, 2014 through Cactus Rock Records and has received airplay in the southwestern United States, Austria, and Germany.
2015-2016: Yellow EP
editIn December of 2015 Club FX audio engineer Kenny Padilla joined the band as the new drummer, replacing Anders Zway contributing his influence stemming from punk bands of the 90's such as Blink-182. Michael Shaheen soon after contacted college friend Michael Ion to join as a supplement to the wind section and to play synthesizer on select songs. The band performed at The Rock, Tucson opening for acts such as Reel Big Fish, Authority Zero, and won the 2016 battle for KFMA day. After performing at 2016 KFMA day founding bassist Jordan Carranco decided to leave the band in order to concentrate on his solo songwriting career. Kenny Padilla recruited fellow Hot Chicks band member Andres Bautista to fill in on bass and record the band's next EP. Gabe Montiel, Michael Ion, Michael Sheheen, and Andres Bautista produced the band's first EP in the summer of 2016 using the band's private studio. Local Trombonist Matt Hoetz played live with the band and recorded for the EP. The Yellow EP was mastered at Allusion Studios in Tucson, Arizona and released on November 18, 2016. The Band plans to record another full length LP before a two month tour in 2017.
