I'm interested in the agricultural anthropology of the settled cities, and their cross-cultural interactions with nomadic people and general patterns of sedentarization in the religio-political context of early societies, especially in Europe, Asia and the Near East, including China, India, and Iran, and the modern industrialization and reforms.
