Sonnet 6

Someone once said the past is not to mourn --
Undoing holds of what has been done heals --
So why can't I leave the love that's been born
Inside my heart and release all time's seals?
Even the hurt still lingers slowly on,
Joy passing without a hint of retreat.
Oh, how my soul faints for another song,
Another chance to get onto my feet.
Never, it seems, will I forget the loss,
Never will my memories let me mend,
And although this lifestyle brings so much cost,
Forgetting only brings me to my end.
Outside of you, there's nothing left for me:
Xeransis is the only thing I see.
