Now that I am retired, I want to "give back" by contributing to my two alma maters in various ways (e.g. I serve on an advisory board for UC Riverside), mentoring young people, and contributing to Wikipedia in areas where I feel qualified. To put my contributions to Wikipedia in context, here is a little bit about me. I retired in 2021 from the US Aerospace/Defense industry after ~39 years. Prior to that, I earned a BS in Mathematics from UC Riverside and MS and PhD degrees from UCLA in Computer Science. The latter was completed in 1986 in the area of Computer Science Theory. My advisor was Prof. Sheila Greibach. While working full-time in the Southern California Space industry, I also occasionally was hired as an adjunct faculty member to teach courses in the UCLA Dept. of Computer Science. I primarily have taught one course: CS181 Intro. to Formal Languages and Automata Theory. My interests are: computer science, mathematics, linguistics, physics, philosophy (mainly Buddhism and Secular Mindfulness), collecting comic books and comic book art, and other forms of popular culture.
