Michael Muller (born Huntington Long Island, New York) is an American Rock and Roll and Blues musician, producer and songwriter currently residing in New York City.
Performance
Michael Muller began his professional career with the Long Island based blues band The Roosters. During his tenture with The Roosters Mike honed his innovative bass playing skills. The Roosters played many of the most popular music venues in and around the New York tri-state area to include My Father's Place,CBGB's, and Toad's Place.
In 1981 Mike joined the Virginia based pop rock band Single Bullet Theory and signed a recording contract with Nemporer Records owned and run by the lengendary Nat Weiss. Single Bullet Theory released two singles; Keep it Tight, Hang on to your Heart and one self titled LP before the breakup of the band in 1984 over contractual difficulties with Nemporer's parent company CBS.
During the Single Bullet Theory years Muller toured with The Pretenders Dave Edmunds, and Huey Lewis to name just a few. Single Bullet Theory performed at both large and small music venues in the United States among them to include The Palliadium, The Warwick Theater, The Hollywood Bowl, The Ritz, stadium shows included Michigan State Football Stadium and Scott Stadium amongst others.
In the mid-eighties as a member of the Mid-Atlantic based roots rock band The Bopcats Mike began his long time friendship with Blues Rockabilly guitarist and vintage guitar pickup manufacturer Lindy Fralin [1]
Mike currently freelances on both live gigs and recording sessions with various artists in the New York City area and is afiliated with BMI in America and Gema in Europe. He is also a soundproofing consultant with City Soundproofing (http://www.citysoundproofing.com) in New York City.
Background
Mike was raised on Long Island and went to Smithtown Central High School; he later went on to Suffolk Community College and SUNY at Stony Brook. Michael is the son of Frederick A. Muller and Elizabeth S. Muller.
