The Freetown-Lakeville Jo Sox are a Wii League baseball team as a result of a merger between Freetown and Lakeville's Wii baseball teams. The team officially founded on October 7, 2010 by Funco Sports and Ace Ticket.
Controversy with Ace Ticket
editPrior to the merger, both teams' tickets were distributed only by Ticketmaster. In 1998, Ace Ticket bought the Lakeville Dragons' distribution of ticket rights. From then until the merger, only Ace Ticket had Dragons' home tickets. The Freetown Jo Sox also had distribution with the local Trading Post for tickets but never switched to Ace Ticket.
2011 lawsuit
editOn May 29, 2011, Joe Roberts was refused a ticket by Ace Ticket due to his weight. He filed a lawsuit, and as a result, he no longer supports the Jo Sox due to Ace Ticket's distribution rights.
