Geo-Information Technology (GIT) is a course dealing with Geographic Information System offered at the Polytechnic of Namibia and at other colleges world wide. It's based on the integration of scientific disciplines of Geosciences and Information Technology. Therefore, the course is considerably more Technology-oriented, however with a strong emphasis in Geosciences [1]. The goal of Geo-Information Technology is to understand the main theoretical aspects of geographic information science and cartography. In addition to that, you will gain practical skills in using and developing GIS, supported by an understanding of coordinate systems, transformations and Geospatial data infrastructures [2].
